Saga Dawa
Saga Dawa begins on the New Moon (06/03) and reaches its peak multiplying effects on the Full Moon (06/17).
During Saga Dawa (June 3 to 17), every evening from 7:30pm to 9:30pm we will perform Vajrasattva purification together with accumulation of the prayer "The Source of All True Realization".
Saga Dawa is one of the four most sacred periods within the Buddhist calendar, marking the birth, enlightenment and parinirvana of Shakyamuni Buddha. It is said that merit is accumulated exponentially during this period, therefore we dedicate ourselves to the accumulation of virtue and the renunciation of non-virtuous attitudes, finding inspiration in life of Shakyamuni Buddha.
Whether through making offerings, engaging in meditation practices, or making vows that remind us of our commitments, practitioners make an extra effort to maintain perfect conduct and train their mind in order to bring benefit to all beings.
