Losar e Chötrul Düchen

On Saturday (10), we will celebrate Losar, the Tibetan New Year. This is the year 2,151, the year of the Wood Dragon.

The day before Losar (Friday 9), it is a tradition among Tibetans to carry out a general clean-up of the home, closets and personal practice environment.

This is also the time when we emphasize the practice of Vajrakilaya. This practice helps us to remove the obstacles of the past year, paving the way for the new year.

After Losar, in the first fifteen days after the new year, we have the sacred period Chötrul Düchen, when the fact that Buddha Shakyamuni manifested one miracle a day for fifteen days is celebrated and reaches its peak on the full moon, on the 24th.

In this very special period, the effects of our actions, both virtuous and non-virtuous, are multiplied millions of times. During this powerful time of multiplicity, our practice and virtue have the potential to amplify even more, creating excellent conditions to bring benefits to ourselves and all beings.

Plan your actions

Take advantage of this auspicious period when actions are multiplied thousands of times and include virtuous actions in your routine. Be generous, practice meditation, make auspicious wishes for the benefit of all beings.

In the Buddhist tradition, protecting beings from suffering and premature death is a powerful practice of compassion. We all know that taking the life of a being is a very bad thing, contrary to ethics. Conversely, saving a life is a virtuous act of extreme significance. When we release the animals, we pray for their well-being and spiritual connection, and conclude the ceremony with dedications.

Offerings can be made until 6pm on the day before the Lifesaving practice, using the Google form.
