On Tuesdat the 15th of November, we celebrate Lhabab Düchen. This date marks Buddha's return to the human realm after spending three months in the god realm. Wanting to repay the generosity of his mother Maya and free her from samsara, the Buddha ascended to the Heaven of the Thirty-three (Trayastrimsha) - the realm where his mother had been reborn - and gave teachings to her and many other beings and local gods.
This date is one of four sacred periods which mark splendid moments in Buddha's life. It's an auspicious day to generate merit and bring benefit to all beings, as it's said that positive and negative actions are accumulated millions of times during these periods.
It is beneficial to make efforts to accumulate virtue and renounce non-virtuous attitudes, make offerings, do meditation practices and even make vows to remember our commitments.
To make such efforts with the correct motivation generates immeasurable merit.
