A few years ago, Odsal Ling received several donations of books written by important teachers of various Buddhist traditions. Today these works form a library of about 300 volumes, which is completely cataloged. Our aspiration now is to facilitate access to these texts and receive donations of specific titles for the Odsal Ling library, little by little, so that it can become a useful reference collection.

Odsal Ling library was recently catalogued by relevant themes, such as:

• Tibetan Buddhism
• Buddhism of other traditions
• History and Culture of Tibet
• Travel Stories
• Children’s Literature
• Book on Art, Dance and Architecture

The majority of these books, mostly in the portuguese and english language depict, for example, travellers adventures in Tibet, studies on the art of Thangka painting or Stupa construction, texts of Tibetan literature, or talk about the history and culture of different buddhist countries.

Books on Tibetan Buddhism make up the greater part of this collection and, bringing to us the word of important masters, are considered of special importance to this body of literary works.

With the intention of creating a reference collection, comprised of biographies, compilations of teachings and texts written by the principal masters of Tibetan Buddhism, will we periodically publish the titles of works we would like to buy or have donated.

The books may be delivered directly to Odsal Ling or the cost of the book deposited into our bank account for Chagdud Gonpa Brazil, in accordance with the below mentioned specifications.

Each person can borrow only one book at a time. The books can be borrowed for 21 days.

Books should be returned to the Odsal Ling Temple. At the urban center of Odsal Ling, books may be delivered on Tuesdays, from 19h to 21h30.

A fine of R$2 per day will be charged when overdue.
