Tara Retreat - Module 3 - emphasis on the practice of Long Tara


Participation can be in person or online.

The teachings will not be recorded.

Accommodation is available.

Participation in the retreat includes access to videos with teachings on altar offerings, offerings in the general context and mudras - via the Campus Platform. These are preparatory teachings for doing the long practice of Red Tara and for those who want to prepare for the Drubchöd of Tara.

Drubchöd é uma prática elaborada e extensa, que inclui a recitação de uma sadana, mantras e danças rituais.

Um Drubchöd possui oferendas tão elaboradas quanto as de um Drubchen, porém em um período menor.

Meals are only provided for retreatants who have chosen this option when registering. There is no way to meet requests made during the event.

Registration includes Friday dinner through to Sunday dinner.

Important: the meals offered by the Temple include vegetarian options, but it is not possible to cater for special diets with restricted ingredients.

Maha Pizza (food truck): our food truck serves pizza slices, quiche, cheese bread, salad, cold and hot drinks, açaí, sweets and popsicles. There are vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free and zero sugar options.

You bring your own meal: You can also bring your own meal to heat up. We have a pantry available for retreatants, with a microwave oven, fridge and sink.

Restaurants nearby: there are some restaurants near the Temple that serve meals. We suggest that you check the location and opening hours of these establishments in advance.

You will pre-register for accommodation. The events department will contact you by email to confirm your registration.

Those who choose to participate with accommodation are included:

♦ meals from dinner on the 4th to dinner on the 6th

Please note: for those who are also taking part in the Tara Drubchöd, there will be the possibility of accommodation during the week, starting on October 7th, as a package of the two events together + accommodation for the week. For more information, send an email to: [email protected]

The teachings will be granted in English, via Zoom, with consecutive translation into Portuguese and simultaneous translation into Spanish and French.

You must reserve a parking space when you register and wait for confirmation by email from the events area.

As our parking is limited, we strongly suggest that participants share rides.

The Mandala Shop will be open from 10 am to 3:30 pm.

Remove your shoes and hat before entering.

It is not permitted to photograph, record or film the inside of the meditation room or the teachings.

Do not touch the practitioners' objects or musical instruments.

Do not lie down in the practice and teaching room.

It is traditional, in the presence of Rinpoches and Lamas, to wait standing until they sit down. Then three prostrations are made as a sign of respect.

Do not point your feet at statues, lamas or sacred objects.

Do not walk over sacred texts, practice objects or benches.

Do not place texts directly on the floor.

Sacred texts are only loaned for use during meditation practices and should not be taken home or copied without the Temple's permission.

If you find an object that doesn't belong to you, please hand it in to one of our volunteers on site.
