Practice during a lunar eclipse
On March 3rd there will be a lunar eclipse and during the event we will conduct Standing Tara practice.
Prerequisite: to do this practice, you must have received Red Tara empowerment.
If you don't have instructions, familiarity or text to follow the practice, you can join the sangha by doing your personal practice.
In person and online.
Eclipses are propitious periods for meditation, as the subtle energies of our body harmonize.
It is said that the results of our thoughts, words and actions are enhanced during the event.
Take advantage of this rare occasion when an eclipse will occur at a time and date accessible to everyone, and join the sangha to practice!
If you can't make it to the Temple, you can do your practice at home or wherever you are.
There is no need to register to take part.
Remove your shoes and hat before entering the meditation hal.
Photography, recording, or filming inside the meditation hall or during teachings is not allowed.
Do not touch other practitioners' objects and musical instruments.
Do not lie down in the practice and teaching area.
In the presence of Rinpoches and Lamas, it is traditional to remain standing until they sit down. We then do three prostrations as a sign of respect.
Do not point your feet at statues, lamas, and sacred objects.
Do not step over sacred texts, practice objects, or benches.
Do not place texts directly on the floor.
Sacred texts are loaned for use during meditation practices only and should not be taken home or copied without the Temple's authorization.
If you find an object that does not belong to you, please hand it to one of our volunteers present at the site.
As our parking is limited, we strongly suggest that participants share rides.
