During Saga Dawa (May 22nd to June 5), we will have daily Vajrasattva purification practice at Odsal Ling from 7 pm to 8:30 pm, broadcast on YouTube.
Saga Dawa is one of the four most sacred periods within the Buddhist calendar, and marks the birth, enlightenment and parinirvana of Buddha Shakyamuni. It begins on the New Moon (May 22) and reaches its peak multiplying effects on the Full Moon (06/05). It is said that merits is accumulated exponentially during these days, and so we dedicate ourselves to accumulating virtue and renouncing non-virtuous attitudes, inspired by the life of Buddha Shakyamuni.
Whether making offerings, engaging in meditation practices, or making vows that recall their commitments, practitioners make an extra effort to maintain perfect conduct and train their own minds to bring benefit to all beings.
