In this extensive cycle of teachings and practice, Lama Tsering will give guidelines on aspects of the Sadhana of Red Tara, “The Wish-Fulfilling Essence”.

In exploring and understanding the vast meanings contained in this text, the student will be presented to an authentic practice of Vajrayana Buddhism, which uses as a method for training the mind, visualization, mantra recitation, mudras and offerings.

The principal meditation of the many Chagdud Gonpa centers in the West, the treasure of Red Tara, revealed by Apong Terton, was brought to us by Chagdud Rinpoche, from whom Lama Tsering received the blessings and the authorization to transmit the practice to her students.

EMPOWERMENT

This is an elaborate ceremony in which the teacher authorizes the student to engage in the Vajrayana meditation, transmitting to the student the blessings of the lineage of a certain practice. It is said that, in an empowerment, a seed is planted, so that the state of Buddhahood inherent in the student may be revealed - once the appropriate causes and conditions come together.

In receiving an empowerment, the student creates a link with the practice and with the lineage – which should be taken into consideration before receiving it.

Lama Tsering will give the Red Tara empowerment on the 24th of March at 8pm in the Temple. The empowerment is a requirement to participate in the cycle of teachings.
