Frequently asked Questions
There is no “registered sangha” in my area. How can I listen to the teachings?
You can become a “Member from Afar” of Chagdud Gonpa Odsal Ling and access “Dharma Stream” as an individual. The benefits in terms of access to teachings correspond to the category of membership you have chosen.
Can’t hear anything?
Be sure you have the latest version of a standard audio player and that your speakers are properly installed and connected (we suggest I-Tunes and Winamp).
If the problem persists, or you have other technical problems during the teachings, sign into MSN Messenger and contact odsalling@hotmail.com. Our volunteers will be happy to help you.
What times will the Dharma Stream be available?
All “Members from Afar” and “Registered Sanghas” are invited to listen to rebroadcast of "Lotus Petals" cycle of teachings with Lama Tsering, on Tuesdays.
“Supporting Members” are invited to the rebroadcast of "Lotus Petals" cycle and our series of teachings on Thursdays.
I missed the live teachings. Will they be broadcast again?
Many “Members from Afar” will have reasons why they might miss the live broadcast, such as time zone differences, emergencies etc. So, just in case you missed it, we will continually broadcast the evening teaching for 24 hours after it’s live broadcast.
Cick here to access the recorded broadcast.
Can I record the teachings?
In order to support sangha people who live far away and wish to deepen their dharma experience, we have gone to great lengths to create this live audio programming for you. We ask that you not record the teachings. If you wish to purchase an archive CD of a particular lecture, please contact Odsal Ling and we will be happy to arrange for you to have a copy for your own use.
Can I invite other people to listen to the teachings with me?
Yes, you are welcome to invite as many people as you would like to listen to the teachings with you. In other words, you are acting like a “sangha.” In order to help facilitate merit on behalf of your visitors and, in order to help support the dharma activity, we ask you to collect a suggested donation of $ 5.00 per person. (click here and see how to send your offering).
Even though a wonderful Lama lives in my area, can I still become a Member from Afar?
Yes, you are certainly welcome to be an Odsal Ling “Member from Afar” and listen to the teachings. To have a wonderful lama near you, however, is a great fortune, and you should take every opportunity to hear those direct teachings as much as you are able. Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche used to say “a sugar cube is sweet on every side”
If Lama Tsering is traveling, will there be a broadcast?
Yes, occasionally, Lama Tsering will be unavailable to teach. At those times we will broadcast from the Archive Series of her teachings. Presently we are not planning to broadcast late December and January which are vacation periods in Brazil.
I enjoy listening so much, will the pujas be broadcast too?
It is our intention to broadcast some pujas for the benefit of distant members… To be announced.
