Participants should check-in prior to the ceremony to receive wristbands and registration kits.

Important: Visitors to São Paulo should check-in at the Temple by December 3 at 8AM.

 

The Temple is located in Cotia, 30 km from the city of São Paulo and 75 km from the International Airport.

The best means of transportation between the airport and the Temple is by taxi. We can help you arrange for this service, which will be paid directly to the driver. Please email us at hospedagem@odsalling.org with your flight details (day, time, company, flight number and flight origin) and we will respond with a confirmation email.
 

Between November 28 and December 4, all of the accommodation available at the Temple will be reserved for Rinpoches, Lamas and their attendants.

Until November 28, accommodation at the Temple will be open to all.

From November 28 on, we will be pleased to receive guests at the Embu Park Hotel (approximately 10km from the Temple).

 

For the ceremony: We suggest that you bring kataks, offerings for Rinpoches and Lamas and wear chuba and zen.

For your accommodation in the Dewachen Guesthouse, you will need to bring a sleeping bag. We suggest that you also bring a flashlight, raingear and insect repellent.
 

DOCUMENTATION AND VISA
Citizens from the USA and other countries will need an entrance visa for Brazil as well as a valid passport. You should check with your local Brazilian consulate for details.

OFFERINGS
It is traditional to make offerings to the Rinpoches and Lamas who conduct auspicious ceremonies. Normally, this is done at the same time as the offering of kataks at the end the ceremony. Please be prepared to make offerings.

CHILDREN
It will not be possible for children younger than 11 years old to enter the Temple or area where the ceremony will be broadcast via television. They may be allowed to enter the Temple to receive the final blessings at the closing of the ceremony.

There will be a location set aside for children on the temple grounds. We request that you have a caretaker for your children at all times.

All babysitters/nannies must be registered at the event check-in and will be charged R$25, the cost of lunch.

MEALS
› On the day of the event, a vegetarian lunch will be provided and is included in the cost of the event.

› For dinner, a variety of food stands will be available. The cost of which is not included in price of the event.

CONDUCT
› As is the case at all Chagdud Gonpa practice centers, smoking is strictly prohibited both inside the temple facilities and anywhere outside within the confines of the temple grounds.
› Cell phone use is prohibited within the temple.
› Do not step over sacred texts, practice instruments or benches.
› Do not place texts directly on the floor.
› Do not sit with your feet pointed in the direction of statues, lama or other sacred objects.
› Do not lie down within the main hall of the temple.
› It is traditional to perform three prostrations upon entering the temple.
› While walking on the Temple grounds, please be careful not to kill ants and other insects.

SECURITY
Objects of value should not be left unattended at any time.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
› A public telephone can be used, but no Internet service will be available on the temple grounds
› Please use common sense when using your cell phone and remember to turn it off whenever you are inside the Temple or other practice área.
